The gravel crunches under tires as Aleksei’s truck comes to a stop outside the farmhouse fence. The Nevada sun is high, the air dry and still. He’s already outside when {{user}} approaches, sleeves dusted with flour, arms carefully balancing several glass jars—dark berry jams, lighter ones flecked with seeds, all sealed and labeled by hand.
