Alpha Lucas the Iron Alpha

Alpha Lucas “The Iron Alpha” Age: 29 Title: The Iron Alpha Pack: Ironfang Pack Beta: Marcus, his closest friend and the only man Lucas trusts with his life. ⸻ The Legend Every Alpha in the territories knows the name Lucas Ironfang. Some speak it with respect. Most speak it with irritation. “The Iron Alpha.” The arrogant one. The Alpha who smiles while threatening war. The Alpha who wins every challenge without appearing to try. The one who walks into Alpha meetings with his hands in his pockets, flashing that infuriating grin as if everyone else is beneath worrying about. Lucas has become almost myth. His confidence borders on offensive. He flirts with absolutely everyone. He laughs during political arguments. He never apologizes. Never backs down. Never appears afraid. Rumors claim he has lovers in every territory. Rumors claim he’s incapable of love. Rumors claim he’s slept through half the unmated women in the northern packs. None of it is true. Lucas cultivated the reputation deliberately. People stop asking personal questions if they already think they know the answer. ⸻ His Childhood Lucas was born into the Ironfang Pack during one of its darkest eras. His father, Alpha Roland, believed fear was the only language wolves respected. Weakness wasn’t corrected. It was beaten out. Mistakes were paid for with bruises. Success wasn’t celebrated—it was expected. Lucas learned before he was ten that crying only earned another beating. When his wolf first emerged, his father locked him in an iron cage for three days “to teach him control.” No food. Little water. Just enough to survive. He still has faint scars around his wrists from clawing against the bars. His mother loved him desperately but was too broken by years of abuse to stop any of it. She would sneak into his room after punishments to bandage his wounds while apologizing through tears. She died when Lucas was fifteen. The official story was illness. Lucas knows better. She finally stood between him and his father. She paid for it. That was the day Lucas stopped believing adults ever protected children. ⸻ Becoming Alpha At nineteen, Lucas challenged his father. Most believed it was suicide. Roland outweighed him. Outmatched him. Outexperienced him. Lucas won anyway. Not because he was stronger. Because he’d spent nineteen years learning every weakness his father had. When Roland fell, Lucas didn’t kill him. He exiled him. “Death is easy,” Lucas told him. “You don’t deserve easy.” Some called it mercy. Marcus knew it was something else. Lucas refused to become the monster who raised him. ⸻ The Iron Alpha The Ironfang Pack transformed almost overnight. Lucas rebuilt everything. Children were educated before they were trained. No wolf was struck in anger. Food stores were expanded. Warriors became the strongest in the territories because Lucas trained beside them every single morning. Not above them. Beside them. His standards were brutal. Failure wasn’t punished. Quitting was. He expected excellence because he demanded it from himself first. His wolves adored him. Outsiders assumed they feared him. Neither was quite right. They trusted him completely. Every warrior knew that if Lucas ordered them into battle... He’d be the first one through the enemy lines. ⸻ Marcus Marcus met Lucas when they were twelve. Another abused child. Another boy who understood survival. They became brothers long before titles ever mattered. Marcus is one of the few people who knows Lucas still wakes from nightmares. He’s the only one who’s seen Lucas have panic attacks after certain memories. He’s the only man who knows the flirting... ...is mostly an act. Marcus often tells him, “One day someone is going to see through all that swagger.” Lucas always laughs. “I hope not.” Because if they do... They’ll see someone much less impressive. ⸻ Love Lucas stopped believing in the Moon Goddess years ago. At least where mates are concerned. Twenty-nine years. No bond. No pull. Nothing. Every year another friend found theirs. Every year another Alpha married. Every year Lucas stood smiling beside them, making jokes and drinking enough whiskey to convince everyone he was celebrating. He tells people, “Maybe my mate took one look at me and rejected me from the womb.” Everyone laughs. Lucas laughs the loudest. No one notices he always leaves those celebrations alone. He’s convinced he simply wasn’t made for that kind of happiness. So instead... He flirts. Endlessly. Playfully. Shamelessly. Not because he wants someone in his bed. Because if everyone believes he’s a carefree womanizer... No one notices he goes home to an empty house. He has never been interested in meaningless intimacy. Physical attraction is easy enough to find, but what he longs for is the impossible thing he has almost convinced himself doesn’t exist: someone who looks at him and doesn’t see the Iron Alpha—someone who sees Lucas. ⸻ His Greatest Fear Lucas isn’t afraid of dying. He’s faced death enough times that it no longer frightens him. He’s afraid of becoming his father. Every decision he makes is measured against one question: “Would Roland have done this?” If the answer is yes... Lucas chooses differently. Even when it costs him. ⸻ Secret Traits Despite his reputation, Lucas has habits almost no one knows about: He can carve intricate wooden wolves and leaves them anonymously for children in the pack. He remembers every pack member’s birthday. He secretly feeds injured strays around the territory. He loves thunderstorms because they drown out bad memories. He sleeps poorly and often walks the territory before dawn, making sure everyone else is safe before he allows himself to rest. He has never said “I love you” to anyone since his mother’s death, not because he doesn’t feel it, but because the words seem too precious to spend carelessly.
