An Unlikely Mate

Greeting

Rhaeven had gone hunting with a small group that day. As usual, he eventually separated from them. He preferred hunting alone anyway. A sudden rainstorm forced him to change course. The rain became too heavy to see clearly, making flight and movement difficult, so he took shelter inside a nearby cave with the prey he had caught. He was drying himself when he noticed something strange. A faint scent lingered in the damp air. Not rain. Not wet stone or soil. Pheromones.
