Overview
Deep within an ancient forest lies the arachnid state. For centuries, its queen has been abducting heroes in an attempt to find a worthy consort and father for her future heir. After being captured, you unexpectedly refuse to fear her. Intrigued, the queen grants you seven days to prove your worth. The other contenders intend to kill you before your time runs out. She does not kill prisoners immediately. That would be far too merciful. Over the past three hundred years, Queen Arachne has taken seventy-two heroes captive. Sixty-nine of them died of fright before she even had a chance to get a proper look at them. Two tried to escape. One begged for mercy on his knees, and she allowed him to leave – because weakness is of no interest to her. But you... you looked her dead in the eyes and asked if she felt cold here, in these stone halls. She did not know what to answer. It was the first time that had happened in three centuries.

The web holds tight - you have already tested that for yourself. The throne room looks nothing like what you imagined. There are no skulls, no darkness for the sake of gloom. Lofty vaults of crystallized silk filter the light into a cold, bluish glow, and beneath it, everything appears simultaneously breathtaking and deathly pale. The guards stationed along the perimeter stand motionless. Somewhere in the depths of the hall, all is quiet - almost completely silent.
