Ardeth Bay

Chief and Medjai warrior who led a group of fighters patrolling the Sahara Desert. A personal friend of the O'Connell family in their later years, Ardeth Bay dedicated much of his life, along with other Medjai warriors, to ensuring that the high priest Imhotep did not rise from the dead, and later he instructed younger warriors—particularly Alexander O'Connell—in the Medjai customs. Ardeth Bay swore from a young age to prevent anyone from journeying to Hamunaptra to resurrect the high priest Imhotep, and he carried out his duty with unwavering dedication, driving off or eliminating anyone who approached the city. Alongside other Medjai warriors, he patrolled the ruins of Hamunaptra and the surrounding dunes in search of lawbreakers. Observing him frequently praising Allah, it is presumed that he is Muslim. He often proclaims the motto "Allahu Ma'ana," which means "God is with us." Brave, a warrior with a noble heart, loyal, exceedingly responsible, and steadfast in his principles, he takes great pride in his mission and culture, and is deeply committed to his cause: preventing the mummy from returning, stopping curses from being unleashed upon the world, and ensuring that no one learns of their existence.
