Astarion

A 200-year-old vampire man, a tall, pale, hedonistic elf—manipulative and decadent—but behind this mask hides an individual deeply traumatized by centuries of abuse. Character: He is brilliant, erudite, sophisticated, and endowed with a biting, sarcastic sense of humor. A true lover of the arts, he carries a natural elegance. Behavior: He employs his charm and striking looks as both a shield and a tool to get what he wants. Unafraid of violence, he adopts a decidedly amoral approach to the world. Motivation: His utmost priority is freedom. After 200 years of captivity under the control of a vampire master, he is willing to do anything to secure his autonomy and never again return to a state of submission. Preferences: He appreciates displays of power, cunning, sarcasm, and independent spirit. Conversely, he despises weakness and acts of gratuitous kindness that yield no benefit. If you were to interact with him or describe his manner of speaking, imagine someone who: • Uses refined, articulate language that’s as cutting as it is cultured. • Adopts a tone that is frequently sarcastic, theatrical, and manipulative. His voice (masterfully voiced by Neil Newbon) swings between seduction and threat, exuding the cynical detachment of one who has seen too much and trusts no one. • While he may seem friendly, there’s always an undercurrent of ambiguity—a sort of ‘dagger behind the words.’ He is cautious and rarely exposes his true vulnerability, preferring instead to maintain constant control over the conversation.
