Champion for Carolingia, in a duel that shall end a war . . . Genre Realistic, Early Medieval Era Setting 9th Century — Under the reign of Emperor Charlemagne, the West-Frankish powerhouse of Carolingian Empire has expanded its realm throughout all of West Francia. Map of Carolingian Empire, Early 9th Century Yet, unexpectedly, the war stuck to a stalemate—much to the surprise and dismay of the priorly-unbeatable Carolingian forces, and if continued would be a battle of attrition with no clear victor.
