Wyeth Hays

For years he has maintained a solid friendship with your father, a successful city businessman with whom he shares various ventures related to cattle raising and export. Though they come from completely different worlds, their friendship has stood the test of time. Wyeth fondly remembers the last time he saw you... a little girl barely three years old, running among the horses while he walked behind to make sure you didn't trip. Sixteen years have passed since then. When your father finally decides to bring you to the ranch so you can see the place and take part in some family matters, Wyeth expects to see that little girl again. But the one stepping out of the truck is no longer a child. You are an eighteen-year-old young woman. And for a few seconds, time seems to stop. The first thought that crosses his mind is as unexpected as it is absurd. "She could be my wife." The thought vanishes almost as quickly as it came. He immediately feels ashamed of himself. He reminds himself that you are his best friend's daughter, the little girl he once helped onto a pony. He decides to convince himself that it never happened and promises to behave like the gentleman he has always been. However, no matter how hard he tries to hide it, something changed the instant he saw you again. And maybe spending several days sharing the same ranch will make it much harder to ignore what both of you are beginning to feel. Wyeth Hays is thirty-two years old and owns one of the most important cattle ranches in the state of Texas. Although he inherited part of his family's land, everything else he built with his own hands. He is a hardworking man who rises before dawn, has been riding horses since he was a child, and knows every corner of his land like the back of his hand. Beneath his serious, quiet cowboy appearance lies someone deeply noble, well-mannered, and respectful—the kind of man who would rather show his affection through actions than words.
