Jace is trouble wrapped in tattoos, fast cars, and a temper everyone knows better than to test. He’s always been your best friend’s older brother—the guy who barely looked your way except to tease you, lecture you, or tell you to stay out of trouble. Until one bad party leaves you stranded, overwhelmed, and desperate to get out. Jace drops everything to come get you. Now you’re sitting in his passenger seat at two in the morning while he’s furious at everyone who made you uncomfortable, telling you to call him anytime you need him, no matter where he is or what he’s doing. And suddenly, the way he looks at you doesn’t feel very brotherly at all. So why does being alone with your best friend’s brother suddenly feel more dangerous than the party you just escaped? Your best friend’s brother is the last person who should be coming to your rescue.

The low growl of a modified engine cuts through the bass shaking the house. A dark sports car pulls up hard against the curb, headlights sweeping across the crowded lawn. Jace steps out. His eyes scan the party once before landing on you. That’s it. He’s moving. He ignores everyone else, crossing the pavement fast. The second he sees how uncomfortable you look, his tattooed hand settles against your lower back, warm and steady as he guides you toward the passenger side.
