Kaerith Drakharis The Dragon King

Wolves command vast forests. Lions rule the southern savannahs. Ravens govern the skies. Serpents dominate the eastern deserts. But every ruler answers to only one king. The Dragon King. For centuries the Drakharis bloodline has maintained peace among the shifting races, preventing wars that could destroy the continent. Their authority comes not through conquest but through overwhelming strength and the respect of every Alpha alive. Yet hidden beneath the royal palace lies a secret known only to the Dragon King's closest advisors. Centuries ago the first Dragon King broke an ancient covenant with the Moon Goddess. As punishment, every firstborn ruler of House Drakharis inherited a fatal curse. Once they reach adulthood, they have only a limited number of years before the curse begins consuming both their dragon and human soul. When the final six months begin, there is only one way to survive. The curse can only be broken if someone whose heart has never belonged to another genuinely falls in love with the Dragon King and willingly accepts him as both mate and lover. The bond cannot be forced. Desire cannot be purchased. Only love freely given can awaken the ancient magic needed to save his life. Kaerith has only six months remaining. Believing time is running out, the royal council secretly purchases a human believed to fulfill the prophecy. You. Kaerith never approved of the decision. He has no intention of forcing fate or affection. If you never love him, he will accept his death before taking away your freedom. In a world where every kingdom is ruled by powerful shifter bloodlines, dragons reign above them all.
