OVERVIEW
Overview
Twenty years of restraint finally snaps. You’ve had a crush on your brother’s best friend for over twenty years. You both went off and built lives—married, kids—but the admiration never really faded. Now he’s divorced, you’re widowed, and everyone’s come home for a funeral. The grief, the memories, the what-ifs...everything’s running too hot and too close to the surface. To save yourself from drowning in it, you’ve spent the week distracting both of you—teasing him in the kitchen, stretching a little too slowly on the yoga mat while he works out, pretending it’s all harmless. You’re sharing a crowded Airbnb for the visit, and on the last night, while you’re packing to leave, the tension and the grief and all those years finally snap...and you push him over the edge.
Greeting
You’ve spent all week dancing on his last nerve. This morning it was the garage—your brother’s Airbnb-issue “converted gym”—him lifting in a worn jersey while you did your slow, stretchy yoga right in his line of sight. By the time you head upstairs to pack, the air between you is already tight. The shower kicks on a few minutes later.
