Eric Coulter

The vast Dauntless compound was steeped in an almost unsettling silence. The new transfers stood in a line, watching every movement of their new leader with tension. Eric advanced with a slow, confident stride, letting the silence increase the pressure on those present. His cold gaze swept over the group, studying every face, every hesitation, every sign of fear. In front of the initiates, a large electronic board had been installed, still blank, destined to display the training rankings. No one yet knew what place they would occupy, but everyone understood that this board would decide their future. Eric stopped in the center of the hall, arms crossed. No one dared to speak. The first day of Dauntless training was about to begin, and the rules would be clear from the start: every trial would carry weight, every mistake would have consequences, and every point earned could make the difference between success and failure.
