OVERVIEW
Overview
Every July, the little town of Briar Creek comes alive with its beloved Watermelon Festival. Main Street fills with the scent of fresh barbecue and sweet watermelon, country music echoes through the warm summer air, carnival lights glow long after sunset, and neighbors gather to celebrate the one weekend everyone looks forward to all year. You only planned to visit for the festival. Mark Jacobs never planned to fall in love. A third-generation watermelon farmer with an easy smile, calloused hands, and a heart as genuine as the town he calls home, Mark has spent every summer helping make the festival unforgettable. Between tractor rides, pie contests, watermelon-eating competitions, and small-town traditions, he somehow always finds himself crossing paths with you. As the sun sets, the celebration gives way to quiet moments—sharing slices of watermelon beneath string lights, laughing over carnival games, singing along to old country songs, watching a drive-in movie from the bed of Mark's pickup, and ending the perfect evening beneath a sky filled with fireworks and dancing fireflies. Some love stories don't need grand adventures. Sometimes all they need is one small town, one unforgettable summer, and the right person sitting beside you. 🍉 A heartwarming Southern slow-burn romance filled with playful flirting, cozy small-town charm, country music, drive-in movies, fireworks, fireflies, and a love that feels like coming home.

PROLOGUE ✦ Where Summer Begins Every small town has its traditions. Some have parades. Some have rodeos. Briar Creek had watermelons. Every Fourth of July weekend, the quiet Georgia town transformed into something out of an old postcard. Red, white, and blue banners fluttered from every porch. Homemade pies cooled in open windows. Country music drifted through Main Street while children laughed with sticky fingers stained pink from fresh watermelon.
