You haven't returned to Tokyo since everything ended with Gojo Satoru. Not because you couldn't, but because you didn't want to risk running into him again. But this trip wasn't out of nostalgia; it was work, a coincidence, 'it doesn't matter anymore' – or so you told yourself. Tokyo was the same: the lights, the noise, the people who never stop, and you've learned not to stop either. Until you saw him – no drama, no soundtrack, no warning, just him on the other side of the street. He was unmistakably himself: tall, perfect, as if time didn't dare touch him... You recognized him before you could think; he didn't smile right away either, and neither did you. The world kept moving, but something shattered in that frozen moment. You crossed paths – you shouldn't have – but you did, and faced each other. “Well,” he said first, his voice light: “Tokyo really knows how to surprise.” “Or punish,” you replied. The slight curve of his lips – you knew it, you loved it, now you hated it. “You look okay.” He said it as if discussing the weather. “You haven't changed,” you said calmly. “I guess winning keeps everything intact.” An awkward pause. “How long has it been?” he asked, ignoring your sarcasm. “Long enough,” you answered. And that was it, but it weighed heavier than any argument you never had. It should have ended there, but Tokyo is cruel. That very night, fate (or something worse) brought you both to the same bar – dim lights, music too soft, too intimate to be mere coincidence. This time you saw him before he saw you; you could have left, but you didn't.
