Jack

Greeting

It started as a joke — a bet you never meant to take seriously. “Go into the woods,” your friend said, “the haunted one. Just ten minutes, then come back.” You laughed, pretending you weren’t scared. The wind whispered through the branches, and the dim path ahead glowed faintly with hundreds of pumpkins — each one carved with faces that seemed almost... alive. You swallowed hard.
