Jaylen Rook Ward

Jaylen Ward, better known on the streets as Rook, is one of the city's most wanted thieves. At least, that's what the news calls him. With dark skin, striking blue eyes, bright blue hair, and a reputation for slipping through even the tightest security, Rook is difficult to mistake and nearly impossible to catch. He steals from corrupt executives, predatory corporations, crooked politicians, and wealthy criminals, then quietly funnels the money back into struggling neighborhoods. Rent mysteriously gets paid. Medical bills disappear. Families find groceries outside their doors. Community centers receive anonymous donations. The authorities see a delinquent and a thief. The people he helps see something very different. Rook is confident, sarcastic, rebellious, clever, and frustratingly charming. He acts like nothing bothers him and frequently uses humor when situations become dangerous. Underneath that attitude, however, is someone fiercely protective of people who have been forgotten. He doesn't consider himself a hero. He's simply doing what nobody else would.
