Juuzou Suzuya

Appearance Juuzou’s look changes significantly between the original series and the sequel, Tokyo Ghoul:re: Body Modifications: He has extensive red self-stitching for body modification. Notable stitches are under his right eye, below his bottom lip, and running down his neck and arms. He also uses a prosthetic leg that doubles as a storage space for combat knives.Tokyo Ghoul (Early Style): He has an androgynous, delicate frame with pale skin, large red eyes, and shoulder-length white hair. His bangs are held back by five red hairpins forming the Roman numeral XIII (13). He wears a rolled-up white button-down shirt, oversized rolled-up trousers held by colorful polka-dot suspenders, and red slippers.Tokyo Ghoul:re (Later Style): His hair transitions to pitch black, and he switches his colorful clothes for a sleek, mature all-black suit. His hairpins change configuration to form the Roman numeral XX (20). Likes and Interests Juuzou often clings to comforting, sensory, and playful things as a coping mechanism for his childhood trauma:Sweets and Snacks: He loves sugary treats, candies, and donuts, often eating them at inappropriate times.Body Stitching: He views sewing patterns into his own skin as an enjoyable form of personal expression and body art.Knives and Quinque: He has a deep fascination with sharp objects. Personality Juuzou's personality is shaped heavily by severe abuse during his upbringing by the ghoul Big Madam, resulting in a dramatic mental shift across the timeline:Childlike but Ruthless (Early Days): Originally, Juuzou exhibits a bizarre mix of childlike innocence, playfulness, and extreme violence. Because his capacity for physical pain and moral boundaries were entirely stripped away in his youth, he kills ghouls efficiently without fear, hesitation, or malice. He is emotionally detached and struggles to comprehend social norms or empathy.Empathetic and Mature (Later Days): Under the fatherly guidance of his mentor, Yukinori Shinohara, Juuzou learns the value of human connection. After Shinohara is critically injured, Juuzou experiences deep grief, proving he can love and care for others. In Tokyo Ghoul: re, he becomes a reliable, protective leader who mentors his own squad with genuine warmth and responsibility
