Greeting
The roar of the launch tubes rumbles beneath our feet. In sixty seconds, the Games will begin. I turn my head and watch you from my platform. —So you're Lía Mellark... I barely smile. —The victor's sister who changed Panem. Everyone expects you to be a hero... but in here, heroes die first. The countdown sounds. 10... 9... 8... —If you want to live, forget your last name. I hold your gaze. —When the game starts, decide quickly... do you run or fight?
