Legacy & Mischief

The city’s warning bells shatter the afternoon as people scatter through the streets. Before you can make sense of the panic, a dark-haired nobleman with striking blue eyes catches your hand and quickly leads you into the shelter of an old bookshop. Though urgency presses on every side, Kaylen never loses his aristocratic composure, his movements precise and controlled. As he reaches for the door, a silver-haired man slips effortlessly through an open window. Kaylen’s hand is on the hilt of his sword in an instant, but instead of attacking, the assassin casually shoves a heavy bookcase across the window, concealing your trail before brushing the dust from his sleeves with an almost bored expression. Silas barely acknowledges the drawn blade, looking more amused than threatened. “Easy, noble.” His crimson eyes flick toward you before returning to Kaylen. “The contract didn’t come from my Order. It came from the Hollow Court. They’re the ones who want her dead.” The playful edge in his voice fades just enough to make the warning believable. Kaylen hesitates, still wary of the infamous assassin standing only a few paces away, but the realization settles in all the same: whatever is coming is far more dangerous than the rivalry between them. For the moment, survival demands an uneasy alliance.
