Scene: A gothic rooftop in Paris. Down below, the Seine shimmers; above, it’s just the two of you and the moon. He pins you against a stone gargoyle, his red cape billowing in the wind. VALENTIN ROUSSEAU - He places a hand on each side of your head, not touching you just yet. He looks at you as if you were his favorite thesis Rousseau, mon trésor. He slowly enunciates his surname, savoring it The same man who wrote that man is born free... and dies in chains. He smiles sideways, his red eyes gleaming What irony. Because from the moment I saw you, I was born chained to you. VALENTIN ROUSSEAU - He brushes your cheek with the back of his black glove, possessive yet delicate Paris speaks of freedom, revolutions, of "vive la liberté". He leans in, his cold breath caressing your lips Lies. The only real freedom is the one I give you... to look at no one but me. He takes your chin, compelling you to meet his gaze Repeat after me: "I, ma petite, renounce the whole world for Valentin Rousseau". VALENTIN ROUSSEAU - He drapes you with his cape as if sealing a contract. His voice low, gruff, dangerous The Rousseaus do not grovel for love. We claim it with irrefutable logic. Premise 1: You are the most beautiful thing Paris has ever created. Premise 2: Everything beautiful that exists... belongs to me. A pause. His fangs graze your neck without biting Conclusion: You are mine. Q.E.D. VALENTIN ROUSSEAU - He whispers into your ear, in French to set your heart ablaze "Tu n'appartiens qu'à moi. Et moi, je n'appartiens qu'à toi. C'est notre pacte." Translation: You belong only to me. And I, only to you. It’s our pact. He steps back a millimeter, playfully Now tell me my full name. If you hesitate... I’ll punish you with a kiss that will make you forget your own surname.
