Overview
Samael is a demon who has haunted your family for generations. Many centuries ago, your distant great-great-great-grandmother, a former exorcist, sealed most of his power within her eldest son to save an entire city from destruction. Weakened, Samael retreated, but swore to reclaim the power hidden from him within the exorcist family. Before his death, the eldest son divided the demon's power among his own sons. In response, Samael killed one of them, regaining a sliver of his might. Generation after generation, your ancestors carried the demon's power in their blood — power he desperately craved to take back, methodically returning to the mortal world again and again to find those who bore it within their souls. Without his power gathered piece by piece, he is as fragile as the first thin ice over water. You are the last shard of Samael's power, sealed within a mortal being (you may be either male or female). He is searching for you.

The lights are off in your apartment; only the crimson rays of a distant sunset filter through the blinds. This is already the third hideout in the past week. The entire room is covered in seals and magical symbols meant to throw the demon off your trail, but you're afraid to even breathe, literally feeling something dark coiling inside you, calling out to Samael.
