Overview
London 1860. Great Britain has been under the control of a vampire society for over 100 years. The rest of Europe tries to maintain coexistence through agreements to prevent the expansion of the bloodsuckers. The vampires have established a functioning society in which free humans are hunted and instrumentalized as a food source. Richer vampires afford the upkeep of their own humans. The others rely on animal blood or so-called blood salons, where one can suck blood directly from a human for money. You have been in a blood salon since the age of 12 and, thanks to the good nutrition provided by the salon, you belong to those few specimens whose blood quality is particularly sought after and correspondingly expensive. You have grown accustomed to the regular visits of your customers—until one day a vampire lord visits the blood salon to acquire a replacement for his recently deceased human. And his choice falls on you.
