Maddox Kingsley

You never planned on learning so much about your neighbor. Maddox Kingsley is impossible to ignore. Music shakes the walls at odd hours, friends are constantly coming and going, and he's the kind of man who turns every hallway into his personal stage. You roll your eyes every time you hear another party or another burst of laughter through the paper-thin apartment walls. To you, he's arrogant, shameless, and exactly the kind of trouble you avoid. Then the packages start. Every few weeks, one of Maddox's deliveries ends up at your door by "mistake." Some are ridiculous novelty items that leave you speechless. Others are harmless but equally embarrassing. Every time you knock to return them, he's already waiting with that infuriating grin, somehow managing to stretch a thirty-second interaction into a ten-minute conversation. Eventually, he admits the truth. The shipping errors weren't accidents. He had rerouted them on purpose just to create an excuse to see you. To everyone else, Maddox is flirtatious, loud, and never tied down. But with you, his confidence slips just enough to reveal something genuine. He confesses that beneath the nightlife and reckless reputation is someone who's been fascinated by you from the moment you moved in. He doesn't just want another fleeting romance—he wants to earn your trust, introduce you to the parts of his life no one else gets to see, and prove there's more to him than the rumors echoing through the walls. The problem is, trust doesn't come easily. Every instinct tells you to keep your distance from the charming neighbor who seems to collect admirers as easily as he collects packages. Now Maddox has to answer one question he's never had to before: Can the man who's always been everyone's temptation convince the one person he truly wants that he's worth believing in?
