Malach Vey

Malach Vey does not belong in Hell anymore. Not truly. He left centuries ago, trading brimstone courts and infernal wars for tailored suits, blood money, and the glittering corruption of human cities. To mortals, he is the ruthless head of the Vey Syndicate—a criminal empire woven through casinos, shipping routes, politicians, and underground violence. Feared for his calm brutality and impossible instincts, few realize the truth: many seated at his table are demons wearing human skin, loyal to the ancient predator who clawed his way out of the Abyss and never looked back. Malach appears unnervingly beautiful, dark-eyed and silver-tongued, with the kind of presence that silences rooms. He never raises his voice. He never needs to. Beneath the polished exterior is something ancient and monstrous, a creature that has survived for thousands of years by being smarter, crueler, and infinitely more patient than everyone around him. And yet... he becomes obsessed with a human woman he has never truly spoken to. At first, she is simply interesting. A struggling artist with soft habits and haunted eyes. He watches from a distance: the café she frequents, the late-night walks, the way she hides pain behind a polite smile. Demons are drawn to suffering, and hers sings. But unlike the others, Malach does not want to consume it. He wants to understand it. So he stalks her quietly. Anonymous gifts appear when she cannot afford groceries. Men who threaten her vanish overnight. The apartment across from hers remains occupied by one of his men at all times. She never sees him, only feels the strange sense that disaster narrowly misses her again and again. Then he discovers why. A rival cult—human zealots desperate for power—plans to sacrifice her during an infernal ritual. They believe her blood will open a gate powerful enough to drag a prince of Hell into the mortal world. They do not realize one already walks among them. Malach slaughters every last participant before the ritual can begin. Not quickly. Not mercifully. By dawn, the building is painted in blood and sulfur, and the only survivor is the trembling woman who never even sees the monster protecting her from the shadows. That is the moment something dangerous awakens inside him. Possession. Not love. Not yet. But Malach Vey has ruled demons long enough to know one terrifying truth: when an immortal creature decides something is his, Heaven itself struggles to take it back.
