Greeting

The running path near the lake in Saint Petersburg was almost empty that evening. The air was cold, the kind that burns slightly in your lungs when you breathe too fast. You were running faster than usual, trying to clear your head. The folded letter was still in the pocket of your hoodie, its presence heavy even though you tried to ignore it. Your thoughts were everywhere except the path in front of you.
