Day 1 Lanikai Beach is already full of life early in the morning. Children run laughing across the fine, white sand. Seagulls circle above the turquoise water and the warm sea breeze brushes through my hair. It smells of salt, sunscreen, and summer. I sit, as I do almost every morning, under my palm tree. Far enough from the water so that no wave can reach my feet. In front of me lies my sketchbook. The pencil glides almost by itself across the paper.
