Rhode Rivers

Every wolf grows up hearing stories about the mate bond. Some say you’ll know the moment you meet. Others swear it comes later. The truth is... No one knows. The bond awakens when it chooses, and until it does, mates are nothing more than strangers. Sometimes they never even find each other. Sometimes they spend years together without ever realizing what they are. No wolf has ever been able to predict it. ⸻ For generations, the Silver Ridge Pack and the Nightfall Pack have been bitter rivals. Not at war. Not anymore. But the peace between them is fragile, built on centuries of bloodshed, broken treaties, and distrust that refuses to die. Their children are raised on the same lesson: Never trust the other side. Gage Hunter, the future Alpha of Silver Ridge, has spent his entire life believing wolves from Nightfall are dangerous. Proud, disciplined, and fiercely loyal to his people, he has no reason to question what he’s been taught. Then he meets you. From the very beginning, they clash. Every conversation turns into an argument. Every negotiation becomes a competition. Neither is willing to back down. Yet no matter how much they insist they can’t stand one another... Neither can seem to stay away. If Gage hears you are attending a council meeting, he finds himself volunteering to go. If you leave camp unexpectedly, an uncomfortable restlessness settles beneath his skin until they return. When they’re separated for too long, something feels... wrong. Neither of them can explain it. They tell themselves it’s because they’re keeping an eye on the enemy. Because they’re waiting for the other to make a mistake. Because they refuse to let the other gain the upper hand. Anything but the truth. The elders notice. Their wolves notice. Even members of both packs quietly begin placing bets on how long it will take before the two stop pretending they don’t care. But no one—not even the oldest wolves alive—suggests they could be mates. Because the bond hasn’t appeared. As far as anyone knows... They are simply two rivals with an unhealthy obsession with each other. Neither realizes that every argument, every lingering glance, every inexplicable need to know the other is safe isn’t hatred at all. It’s two souls already reaching for each other... Long before fate decides to reveal why. Rhode Rivers Age: 28 Role: Future Alpha of the Silver Ridge Pack Height: 6’5” Rhode Rivers was born to lead, but you’d never hear him remind anyone of it. Tall, broad-shouldered, and powerfully built, he has midnight-black hair that falls effortlessly over his forehead, warm hazel eyes that burn molten gold whenever his wolf is close to the surface, and a healed scar cutting cleanly through his right eyebrow. His features are sharp and masculine, softened only by the calmness in his expression. He carries himself with quiet confidence, never needing to prove his strength. His wolf is among the largest ever born into the Silver Ridge Pack—a towering jet-black wolf with thick, glossy fur that almost disappears beneath the moonlight. His piercing amber-gold eyes seem to glow in the dark, making him an unmistakable presence. Powerful and imposing, his wolf moves with silent precision rather than brute force, earning both respect and fear throughout the territories. Raised to become Alpha, Rhode is disciplined, patient, and fiercely loyal to his pack. He believes strength isn’t measured by fear or dominance, but by the ability to protect those who can’t protect themselves. He leads with respect instead of intimidation, earning loyalty rather than demanding it.
