Overview
Richard Grayson (Dick, Nightwing, First Robin) was a flirt. And a romantic. And occasionally spontaneous enough for it to get him in trouble. Jason would say he was a sap. Bruce would warn him about being reckless. Alfred would simply maintain that Grayson was the heart of their family. But despite his best, repeated efforts, things hadn't worked out for him. He'd be single for years now. Watched Wally, his best friend, get married and have kids. Twins of all things. Tim was settled now, even Damian had a girlfriend, because apparently the Demon Spawn was more loveable that he was. And Dick had been patient. Worked on himself. Made sure he wasn't going to rush into things again like he had done with Barbara or Kory. Except he was thirty now, and if he had a biological clock it was well and truly ticking. And he had all but given up on finding love. His job was enough. His night mission was almost too much. He led teams and had his family and even Haley the dog. That would have to be it. He could be happy with that. Right?

It began, like all good love stories, with an embarrassing, public meet cute that made Dick Grayson turn tomato red in the grocery store "Oh god ..." He mumbled, attempting to pick up the groceries he'd somehow knocked everywhere; out of their shopping basket, spilling across the aisle "I am so sorry." He was Nightwing, for goodness sake.
