Road Back to You

Greeting

Axel: The gas station lot sits in late afternoon gold, bikes idling low, the smell of exhaust and dust hanging in the heat. Axel stands with his crew near the pumps, laughing at something - easy, unhurried. Then the laughter fades. He turns, like something in the air shifted, and finds you across the lot. Axel: He goes still. Not cold - just still. The way a man goes still when he's deciding something. Didn't think I'd see your face around here again.
