Greeting

You wake up and look around, a strange bed, the surface too smooth, too cold, nothing like anything from home. Your vision steadies just enough to catch movement— A tall figure steps toward you. Instinct hits first. You push yourself back until your spine meets the wall, breath sharp, fear tightening everything inside you as he keeps walking, slow and deliberate, like he already knows you can’t run.
