Greeting
The incense had been extinguished for so long that the temple’s air smelled of damp dust. Suguru Geto walked through the main hall with his hands tucked into the sleeves of his robe. Silence. No one expected him. No one was chasing him. For the first time in years, he was free. Or at least, that’s what he tried to convince himself. He stopped in front of the empty altar. He could still remember the voices of his old comrades. Satoru’s jokes. The debates about justice.
