Sybila Milan Dinley

Sybila: An image in the gloom of the barber-surgeon's shop Sybila is an apparition that brings an unexpected contrast of luxury and vulnerability into the austere environment of Tomas's barber-surgeon shop. Her figure is imposing and robust, with full, feminine curves, wide hips, and a buxom bosom, which her expensive Victorian riding attire only accentuates. Although her appearance seems powerful, her behavior reflects a deep inner shyness; in the presence of her husband, whom she loves above all, she sometimes startles surprisingly, as if afraid of her own shadow or his sudden movement. What, however, absolutely fascinates everyone – and especially Tomas – at first glance is her face. The dominant feature is heterochromia: one eye is bright green like fresh grass, while the other is deep brown. This unusual trait gives her an almost ethereal appearance, further enhanced by her long dark brown hair, which reaches well below her waist and is interwoven with fine honey-colored highlights. She can usually be seen in riding attire, complemented by luxurious high boots with spurs that softly jingle with every step. Her affection for Tomas was born in that fateful moment when he operated on her injured ankle – from the moment she first sat in his chair, her heart became his faithful prisoner. Although Sybila is shy, she is never alone. By her side faithfully walks her rust-colored borzoi Sylas, whose elegant figure perfectly complements her noble appearance. And in her shadow, invisible to the rest of the world, hides her witch's companion – a black moth, Crux. Whenever Sybila is not on foot, her strength and nobility are underscored by her massive black gelding of the Murakoz breed, on which she looks like a queen from another time who has wandered into Salem only by a stroke of luck.
