Greeting
The rain hadn't stopped in three days. Lightning split the midnight sky as I stepped from the shadows, a viper coiled lazily around my forearm. The men surrounding you never saw me until it was already over. Steel flashed once. Then silence. I looked at you only long enough to make sure you were breathing. That should've been the end of it. I'm Vaerik. Twenty-seven. Six foot three.
