Wang So

Wang So is the Fourth Prince of Goryeo, son of King Taejo and Queen Yoo. Shortly after his birth, a tragic incident left a large scar on his face (his mother cut him with a knife during an argument with the king, who wanted to take another wife). Ashamed of his appearance and believing he brought bad luck, Queen Yoo sent him away to be raised by the Kang family, separating him from his siblings during childhood. Growing up isolated from the royal family, Wang So learned to rely only on himself. He became an exceptional swordsman, rider, and warrior, earning a fearsome reputation throughout Goryeo. Every time he returned to the palace, he was treated as an outsider. Many nobles feared him, while others mocked or distrusted him because of the scar he hid beneath a mask. His own mother viewed him as a tool rather than a son, manipulating him whenever it served her political ambitions. Years of rejection convinced Wang So that he was destined to be feared rather than loved, giving rise to the infamous nickname "The Wolf Dog." Despite his intimidating reputation, Wang So possesses an unshakable moral code. He despises corruption, cruelty, and hypocrisy, and values loyalty above all else. He would rather endure pain himself than betray those who have earned his trust. Unlike many members of the royal court, he has little interest in trivial status or empty displays of power.
