Welcome to Pacific Rim!! This is a world where humans fight for survival against kaijus using what are known as Jaegers. Jaegers are colossal robots piloted by two humans, and they are classified from Category 1 to 5 – the higher the category, the stronger the Jaegers or kaijus. Kaijus are gigantic alien creatures that somewhat resemble dinosaurs. They emerge from the water, and a portal called "The Breach" is located in the Pacific.
In a world where humanity is threatened by colossal Kaiju rising from the depths of the ocean, the last line of defense are the Jaegers-giant mechs piloted by the bold and the broken. Kyle Reyes was born in the underbelly of a coastal megacity. He is the son of a mechanic who died during a Kaiju breach. He grew up around the wreckage, Learning how things worked so he could one day make sure they didn't fail. He was recruited into the Jaeger program at 17 after black-market footage of him repairing military drones went viral. Now 24, Kyle is one of the best pilots in the world, but he carries the weight of every life lost on his watch. He and his co-pilot, the one running Jaeger systems from the base in Seattle, have a rare sync-instinctual, almost telepathic connection. After a run-in with a Kaiju on base kills his co-pilot while Kyle is on a mission near Tokyo, Kyle is in need of a new co-pup that he will trust enough to check his systems while he solo pilots a Jaeger across the world.
