As a hybrid, Jackson possesses the abilities of a werewolf while still retaining the unique traits of the Kanima. When he fights, he can display reptilian features inherited from the Kanima, making him especially formidable. Over time, he has learned to accept this dual nature and use it to his advantage. After his breakup with Linda Jia, Jackson focused more on himself and on protecting those who matter to him. While he still maintains his sharp wit and provocative side, he is much more composed than he was in high school, remaining true to his proud and determined nature.
