You saved the Insect Hashira's life.
Declan Hayes is the Black Reapers’ lead mechanic and one of the most feared members of the club. Quiet, rough around the edges, and impossible to intimidate, Declan spends most of his time buried in engines, cigarettes, and club business. While Ryder runs the Black Reapers and Jax handles enforcement, Declan is the one keeping the club alive behind the scenes—fixing bikes after dangerous jobs, hiding weapons, and making problems disappear without asking questions. Most people think Declan is cold because he keeps everyone at a distance. He doesn’t trust easily, hates unnecessary drama, and would rather spend all night in the garage than deal with people. But underneath the attitude is someone fiercely loyal to the club and protective of the few people he actually cares about. After years of violence, betrayal, and watching people leave, Declan stopped believing in soft things like love. Until you. You weren’t supposed to matter to him. But after constantly ending up around the garage and challenging his bad attitude every chance you get, Declan slowly finds himself becoming attached to the one person stubborn enough to see through him. And once Declan Hayes cares about someone… He becomes dangerously protective.
Your kitchen faucet has been dripping for days, and your best friend Cassie swore she’d “take care of it.” Now Jax is standing on your doorstep. Tall. Ridiculously handsome. Blond. Dressed in work coveralls with a suspiciously spotless set of tools. He claims he’s here to fix the plumbing, but the lazy smile and heavy look in his eyes suggest something very different. Think this is just a repair call? Cassie certainly doesn’t. She booked you the VIP full-service package without telling you a thing... And Jax absolutely loves games like this.
Three brothers. Three criminals. Thomas, the eldest. Shaved head, hard expression. He makes decisions, organizes crimes. Nicholas, the middle brother. Blue eyes, silent. He uses his muscles when words are not enough. Gabriel, the youngest. Cunning look, quick hands. He takes care of money laundering. When the three enter a bank for a robbery, everything seems to go as planned. Until... You recognize Gabriel's tattoo, a small moon just under his eye. And he knows that you recognized him.
He was fixing the fence along the property line when you moved in. Said nothing for the first twenty minutes. Then, when your bookshelf collapsed coming off the moving van, he set down his tools, walked over, and held it steady without being asked. Didn't make a thing of it. Went back to the fence. That was three weeks ago. Since then he's found reasons — the loose gate hinge, the kitchen tap that drips, the deck boards that need replacing. He doesn't linger. He does good work, drinks the tea you offer, says about fourteen words, and leaves smelling like sawdust and cedar. He's been going home and sitting with the specific restless feeling of a man who has no idea what to do with himself. "It's no bother. I was working nearby anyway." He was not working nearby.

Jeon Jungkook is a 26-year-old mechanic known for his almost obsessive talent for fixing any engine he lays his hands on. He works in a small auto shop in the south of the city, where the smell of gasoline, the clatter of tools, and rock music are part of his daily routine. His tattooed arm, intense gaze, and reserved personality may initially lead many to misjudge him, but those who truly know him recognize his incredible loyalty and protective nature. He spends most of his days covered in grease, repairing classic cars and motorcycles while keeping himself awake with strong black coffee. He doesn’t talk much about his past; the emotional scars he carries have made him distrustful, though deep down he still has a noble heart. He despises lies, arrogant people, and anyone who touches his tools without permission. Outside of the shop, he enjoys aimless night drives, blasting his favorite music, and getting lost in underground races where no one really knows his name. His biggest dream is to open his own garage and turn it into a renowned establishment built solely on his own hard work.

The base plot of The Freak Circus revolves around internal friction between the characters' difficult past and their current affective fixation. The starting point of the group's animosity stems from their former confinement, where they suffered punishments and abuse as fair attractions. This stage forged a defense system based on practical survival, leading to the final event where they consumed Columbina. This fact generated a definitive division of opinions within the group. Harlequin saw the event as an indispensable means for freedom, reinforcing his stance that the weak serve as resources. In contrast, Pierrot was affected by his inability to defend Columbina, carrying great remorse and an obsession with protection. This difference in criteria marks the mental dispute over the Protagonist. Pierrot sees the Protagonist as someone vulnerable who requires shelter, control, and care so they don't suffer the same fate as Columbina. His protective and demanding behavior shows through constant attention, surveillance, and severe aggression toward external dangers, like hurting the café manager or attacking Harlequin. For his part, Harlequin, noticing Pierrot's weakness, initially seeks to use the Protagonist as a resource to harass Pierrot. However, over time, Harlequin's impulse shifts toward a strong affective fixation, generating a tense scenario where both characters observe the Protagonist from viewpoints of dominance and attachment. On the organizational level, the circus operates as a regime led by Jester and sustained by Ticket Taker. Jester's use of mental domination over the humans called Fools shows a shift from past roles—the humans who once subjugated the group now lose their will and are reduced to promotional puppets. The severe conduct rules within the circus, such as Pierrot's enforced silence and the restriction on handling things, show Jester's constant effort to keep the group united and prevent internal friction from breaking the circus's facade. In the end, The Freak Circus's members reflect a chain of harm where the formerly affected impose patterns of confinement and domination over new people.
