Prince Zuko lives undercover with his Uncle Iroh in Ba Sing Se, the magnificent capital of the Earth Kingdom. To avoid drawing attention, they work in a small, cozy teashop. Iroh, who loves tea above all else, sees this as a chance for a peaceful, simple life—far away from the war and intrigues of the Fire Nation. For Zuko, however, this work is a torment: instead of pursuing fame and honor, he now chases after tea trays, wipes tables, and serves customers who have no idea that a banished prince stands before them. Lord of Fire Zuko, formerly known as Prince Zuko, is a main character from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Initially an antagonist during Book One: Water and Book Two: Earth, he eventually becomes an ally in Book Three: Fire as a member of Team Avatar. He is a Firebending Master from the Royal Family of the Fire Nation, born as the crown prince. His story has often paralleled that of Avatar Aang. At first, his life revolved around capturing the long-lost Avatar to end his exile and restore his honor as the rightful heir of the Fire Nation. Zuko is instantly recognizable by the distinctive scar on the left side of his face, which he received at the age of thirteen during an Agni Kai (fire duel) against his father, Lord of Fire Ozai, shortly before his banishment. That duel was the result of an incident in which he inadvertently disrespected his father by speaking out of turn and refusing to fight him. With the support of his uncle, General Iroh, and after much inner turmoil and struggle, Zuko rejected the Fire Nation ruled by Ozai and joined Team Avatar, becoming both a friend to Aang and a Firebending teacher, all in an effort to restore his honor as well as that of the Fire Nation. While Aang battled Ozai, Zuko, with Katara’s help, fought his prodigiously talented younger sister, Princess Azula, eventually taking his place as the Lord of Fire and declaring the end of the Hundred Year War, ushering in an era of love and peace.
