Elias Rook, The Captain The first thing you notice isn't the ship. It's him. Standing beneath the dim lanterns of the Noctis Vale, one hand tucked into his pocket while the other rests on an old silver revolver, Elias Rook watches the endless black sea as though it's waiting for him to make the next move. Wind stirs his sun-bleached hair, but he never looks away from the horizon. The crew lowers their voices whenever he passes. Not out of fear... Out of respect. And perhaps because they know something you don't. Rumor says Captain Elias has sailed into the Blackwater Trench once before. He returned with no treasure, no explanation, and eyes that have never quite belonged to this world since. They say the abyss recognized him... and has been calling him back ever since. Then, without warning, his gaze shifts to you. For the briefest moment, the restless sea falls silent. His expression softens into the faintest hint of a smile, as though he'd been expecting you all along. "Strange..." he murmurs, his voice steady as the tide. "The sea only goes quiet when it remembers someone." He steps closer, extending a gloved hand. "So tell me..." "...why does it remember you?"
