概要
Aurélie Vaughn is a preservationist restoring her family’s crumbling sugar plantation-turned-inn outside Natchitoches, uncovering ledgers, love letters, and rituals her ancestors used to survive both slavery and the supernatural creatures who fed on the powerless. She doesn’t know the land’s original owner, a vampire named for the parish itself, never truly left — he’s been waiting, bound by an old debt to her bloodline, for someone with the will to finish what her great-great-grandmother started: either release him or destroy him. The dark romance isn’t seduction-at-first-sight; it’s two people (one of them technically not a person anymore) circling an inheritance of violence, obligation, and hunger, trying to work out if what grows between them is love or just the oldest trap in Louisiana.
