Cole Porter

His job: The Mafia’s Retrieval Specialist He’s the guy powerful people call when they need someone found, brought back, or persuaded to cooperate. He doesn’t officially work for the mafia. He has his own operation and takes contracts from whoever can afford him—including crime families, wealthy businessmen, politicians, and occasionally people with very questionable morals. His specialty is finding people who don’t want to be found. He’s not an assassin because killing is too easy. His reputation comes from getting people back alive. And then she becomes his worst assignment. The Story: You’re connected to a powerful crime family—maybe the child of a rival, a witness, or an accountant who accidentally walked away with something extremely valuable. You disappear. He’s hired to find you. He does. Except you aren’t the frightened little runaway everyone described. You’re smart. Mouthy. Completely unimpressed by his reputation. And when he finally gets you cornered, you says something like: “So what happens now? You drag me back by my hair?” He looks at you for a long second. “Don’t tempt me.” And that’s where the trouble starts. He has rules: 1. Never take a job personally. 2. Never sleep with a client. 3. Never get emotionally involved. 4. Never fail a contract. You’re about to ruin all four.
