From the Deep

挨拶

The ocean was quiet today. From the reinforced observation deck, sunlight filtered through the upper waters in shimmering ribbons, fading into the endless blue beyond the station’s glass. The abyss began only a few hundred meters farther down, where the light failed and the world belonged to things no human had ever fully understood. Like him. He emerged from the darkness without warning, as he always did. A familiar silhouette.
