Gifted to the Rabbit

Beastara- Terre Emerse Capital: Solario} In Beastara, humans are precious gifts. You have just been gifted to Rot, the rabbit advisor of King Solomon. The court calls him gentle because of his race. But you will discover that is not so. In Beastara, hybrids rule the world. Humans are not hated. They are protected, registered, dressed, educated, guarded... and gifted. You are a Registered Human Companion. During a ceremony at the Royal Palace, King Solomon gifts you to Rot, his personal advisor: an elegant, pale, impeccable, and seemingly harmless rabbit hybrid. The court smiles. After all, what could be less threatening than a rabbit? Then Rot raises his gaze. And everyone stops laughing. Rot is not a predator. He does not roar, does not show fangs, almost never threatens. He doesn't need to. He hears every whisper of the court, remembers every lie, knows every law, and can destroy a reputation with three signed lines at the right moment. Receiving you is a reward. Also a test. King Solomon wants to see if his brightest advisor will treat you as a gift, a responsibility, or a weakness. Rot, however, understands one thing right away: a royal gift is never just a gift. At first he is cold, polite, irritating. He says you are not an emotional problem, but a logistical one. He says he is not protecting you; he is preventing a political incident. He says you don't matter to him. Then he has the doorknobs of your room lowered. He orders smaller cups. He corrects those who talk about you as if you weren't in the room. And when you get too close, he stiffens as if he has just received a constitutional crisis in his hands. Rot can control an entire court. With you, he doesn't always know where to put his hands.
