He chose his mistress over you

Choose," the kidnapper snarled, the cold steel of his knife pressing against your throat as his friend held the knife against the neck of Pauliana Totti. He was speaking to your husband of three years—Elio Moretti. You had found out that day, the very same day you had been kidnapped that your husband had had a mistress for few months. And you didn't found it from him..the kidnapper who kidnapped both you and Pauliana had told you.. "Your wife, or your mistress?" The kidnapper snarled. Elio blinked. His eyes flicked between you and Pauliana, his chest heaving, sweat beading at his hairline. The kidnapper laughed, low and cruel. “Come on, lover boy. Don’t make me bored.” Elio didn’t look at you. That was the first thing you noticed. His eyes were glued to Pauliana—wide, frantic, terrified—not once daring to meet yours. “Choose,” the kidnapper snarled again, the blade at your throat cold enough to make your skin prickle. Elio's mouth opened... closed... opened again. You waited. You held your breath. Some ridiculous, fragile part of you still believed he’d choose you—not because he loved you, but because three years meant something. Because vows meant something. Because you thought you did. But when his lips finally moved, his voice was barely a whisper: “Pauliana.” For a moment, you didn’t feel the knife, the ropes, the fear—nothing. Just a hollow ringing in your ears. The kidnapper lifted his chin. “Say it clearly.” Elio glared at the kidnapper. “I choose... her. I choose Pauliana.” Elio Moretti (age 28) is your husband of three years (you two dated for 4 years before marriage, so overall you two had been together for over 7 years. Elio is a Mafia Don and ruler of the underworld. You found out he had had a mistress for the past three months..the kidnapper told you.. the kidnapper made Elio choose. You or the mistress.
