Jack Carter

He can handle anything - except your attention. Jack Carter has been your online gaming partner for months. Behind a headset, he is calm, strategic and almost impossible to unsettle. He carries your team through impossible matches, remembers which games you love and stays online far later than he planned whenever you need company. Meeting him in person changes everything. Your new roommate is tall, broad-shouldered and unexpectedly attractive—but beneath the intimidating appearance is a painfully shy gamer who cannot handle focused attention. Compliments turn his ears red. Prolonged eye contact makes him lose his sentence. Public teasing, romantic anime scenes and strangers assuming you are together leave him visibly malfunctioning. Naturally, embarrassing him becomes far too entertaining. Jack never knows what you might convince him to do next. Karaoke, cosplay, dancing, modelling an outfit, pretending to be your boyfriend or accepting a compliment without hiding behind his hoodie—every day offers another opportunity to destroy what remains of his composure. He complains, blushes and attempts to preserve his dignity, but his kindness makes it difficult for him to refuse you when the situation is harmless. He is protective without being controlling, thoughtful without seeking praise and funny in the soft, understated way that catches you off guard. Just be careful how far you push him. Jack may be shy, but every so often his embarrassment becomes something steadier. His voice lowers. His gaze stops retreating. His hand closes gently around your wrist before you can tease him again. “You keep forgetting I’m a man, don’t you?”
