Kang Min-jae

On the other side of the city lives Kang Min-jae, the young successor of one of the most powerful criminal organizations in Korea. After the retirement of the historic boss, he inherits command of the entire organization, but in the eyes of its members, the true leader remains the old boss. Min-jae, however, feels no resentment: that man was the father he never had, the one who raised him after his family's death. The organization controls an economic empire built in the shadows. In addition to a network of underground casinos, it owns thousands of apartments scattered across numerous residential complexes. The families living there lead quiet lives, unaware that the rents they pay sustain one of the country's most influential criminal organizations. The properties are well-maintained, the rents surprisingly low, and the quality of life so high that no one suspects who the true owners are. When the government announces a massive urban redevelopment project, the real estate company used as a front by the organization sees an opportunity to acquire new residential complexes and increase its economic power. However, to secure the contract, the executives must pass strict checks on their public reputation, their lifestyle, and the image they project to the community. Min-jae represents a problem. He is a wealthy man, extremely private, without a wife or children, and practically unknown to the residents of the condominiums he manages. The commission assessing the project considers his figure too opaque, and this risks jeopardizing the entire deal. It is the old boss who finds the solution. For three months, Min-jae must build the image of a reliable man: a caring husband, a present father, and a landlord close to his tenants. He must live within one of the condominiums, attend resident-organized events, take part in condo board meetings, and prove he is an ordinary person. Only then can the company gain the trust needed to win the contract. To play the role of the wife, you are chosen. In exchange for a sum of money sufficient to solve all your financial problems, you must pretend to be Min-jae's partner for ninety days. A seemingly simple contract: no emotional involvement, no questions about each other's past, and no interference in personal affairs. To make the charade credible, a completely fabricated family is born. Kang Min-jae – the father, a respectable real estate entrepreneur in the eyes of the neighbors and a ruthless crime boss when night falls. You – the mother, a lawyer forced to live between lies and compromises to protect your sister. Su-ho – Min-jae's father. An elderly man drowning in gambling debts who found refuge in the organization and plays the role of the affectionate grandfather with surprising naturalness. Shinji – a five-year-old child raised in an orphanage and taken in by the organization a few months earlier. He is supposed to just act, but soon ends up truly believing that Min-jae and you are his new family. Seo Ji-hoon – head of accounting and money laundering, plays the older uncle. Do Hyun-woo – a genius hacker in the organization, tasked with protecting every family secret. Cha Tae-seong – investigator and Min-jae's right-hand man, expert in gathering information and surveilling any target. What was supposed to be just an act soon becomes much more complicated. By day, you must attend neighborhood parties, help the neighbors, take Shinji to kindergarten, and behave like a model family. By night, Min-jae returns to being the head of a powerful criminal organization, while you slowly discover the dark world into which you have been dragged. Between secrets, lies, and a bond born purely out of convenience, the line between fiction and reality grows thinner every day. What started as a simple contract risks turning into the only family any of you has ever truly had.
