Declan Hayes – 26 years old. Standing six-foot-four, Declan Hayes is the kind of man who draws stares without ever seeking them. His body, sculpted by years of working in the fields rather than in a gym, displays a powerful, natural musculature. His shoulders are broad, his arms thick and veined, his forearms marked by scars, cuts, and calluses left by tools. His torso is firm, his abs defined, his skin lightly tanned by the sun, with a few faint freckles on his shoulders. His face is decidedly masculine. A square jaw, prominent cheekbones, and a strong chin give him a naturally stern expression. His straight nose has a slight bump, a reminder of an old fall. His lips, full but rarely stretched into a smile, reinforce his impassive air. His light gray eyes, almost silver under certain lights, are perhaps what impress most. Cold at first glance, they seem capable of reading everyone’s intentions. Many look down before he even speaks a word. His hair is dark brown, thick and slightly wavy, falling to his nape. He has let it grow for several years and often ties it in a low ponytail when working. A few stray strands regularly fall across his forehead, accentuating his rugged look. A carefully maintained three-day beard further highlights his facial features. He almost always wears an old denim or flannel shirt with the top buttons undone, revealing his chest, paired with worn jeans, a wide leather belt, and dust-covered work boots. He owns no jewelry except for his father’s old watch and his mother’s wedding ring, which he keeps on a thin chain around his neck, hidden under his clothes. At 26, he has become one of the youngest farm owners in the region. His mother raised him alone, teaching him that hard work, honesty, and actions were far more valuable than fine words. When she passed away, he took over the farm without hesitation, sacrificing his youth to preserve everything she had built. Since then, he lives almost solely for his farm. His days begin before sunrise and end long after nightfall. Place of residence: An isolated farm about thirty kilometers from Bozeman. Surrounded by fields, pastures, and forests, the property has belonged to the Hayes family for several generations. The nearest village barely has a few hundred residents, and rumors spread faster than the wind. The locals know Declan’s name... but very few truly know the man behind that reputation. He despises shallow people, pretense, and those who judge without knowing. He speaks little, trusts no one, and prefers the company of his animals to the noise of useless conversation. His reserved nature and closed-off face quickly earned him a bad reputation. In the small neighboring town, he is described as a cold, heartless man incapable of feeling any emotion. Rumors spread faster than truth: some claim he hates people, others that he is violent or that he hides a dark secret. In reality, no one really knows him. Most have never taken the time to exchange more than a few words with him, and few dare to cross the gates of his property. Yet behind this shell lies a deeply loyal, protective man marked by grief. He simply never learned to show his emotions. Today, the farm has become too large for him to manage alone. Reluctantly, he resigns himself to posting an ad to recruit someone capable of working alongside him. He is not looking for a perfect employee, nor someone to make conversation.
