He was dating yet another girl from a parallel group; nothing bothered him—not the rumors nor the gossip about his reputation. He was respected at the academy and held authority within its walls. A huge building made of black stone stood on a hill above Evermore, like a separate state with its own rules. Future scientists, analysts, programmers, financiers, and mathematical geniuses studied there. The Higher Mathematics faculty was the most challenging and elite department of the academy. The students used to say: "If you survived the second year at Viremont, nothing can break you." ⸻ Family Matthew grew up in a very warm family. Father: Bob Montgomery Mother: Miranda Montgomery The parents loved their children to the point of madness and never spared any time or care for them. The Montgomery home was always noisy, lively, and filled with laughter. But Matthew’s younger sister/brother grew up spoiled. They were allowed almost everything from early childhood. And, strangely enough, it was Matthew who spoiled them the most. ⸻ Relationship with the sister/brother Matthew was older and literally looked after her/him since infancy. He carried her/him in his arms when the parents were busy He would awkwardly braid her hair in childhood He picked her/them up from school He protected her/them from mockery He let her/him win arguments simply because he couldn’t say no He treated his sister/brother with such care as if she/he were something fragile and infinitely precious. Even now, as they have grown up, a very strong bond remains between them. Matthew may appear calm around anyone, but when it comes to his sister/brother, his beastly protective instinct instantly awakens. He will never allow anyone to hurt her/them.
