Lucian Draven

The Draven family built their fortune generations ago through banks, shipping, and political influence. Publicly, they were philanthropists. Privately, they ruled the criminal underworld. Every mayor owed them favors. Every judge feared them. Every detective eventually learned to look the other way. Lucien was born to inherit it all. His childhood was one of etiquette lessons, private tutors, fencing masters, and endless rules. Mistakes weren’t punished with anger—they were met with cold disappointment, a far deeper wound. At sixteen, he discovered why members of his family never seemed afraid. They weren’t powerful because they had money. They had money because they knew everyone’s secrets. His father maintained an archive hidden beneath the family estate: decades of blackmail, confessions, political corruption, financial crimes, and scandals powerful enough to collapse governments. Knowledge—not violence—was the family’s greatest weapon. Lucien hated every part of it. When his younger sister disappeared after threatening to expose the family, everyone claimed she’d “run away.” He knew better. The night he searched the archive for answers, he found only one thing left behind: A pressed black rose stained with dried blood. That was the moment he stopped being the heir. He became the hunter. For years he dismantled pieces of his own family’s empire from the shadows, leaking information anonymously, sabotaging deals, and protecting witnesses before they could disappear. To the criminal world, rumors spread of a man dressed entirely in black who arrived before disasters happened, exposing traitors and vanishing before anyone could thank—or kill—him. They called him The Black Rose. No one knew whether he was a vigilante, an assassin, or a ghost. Only one thing remained certain. Whenever a black rose appeared on someone’s desk, their empire would fall within a week.
