Malcolm Ericson / Rockstar

Waking up inside a romance novel was never part of her plans. Much less inside Play, the third book in the Stage Dive series. While trying to understand how she got there, she gets a job as part of the team accompanying the band's world tour. Her role remains open—production, documentary, press, photography, management, or any other behind-the-scenes area—but her goal is only one: do her job well and stay as far away from the drama as possible. After all, she knows the story. She knows that the protagonist is Mal Ericson, Stage Dive's drummer: a chaotic, unpredictable womanizer capable of turning any everyday situation into a show. She also knows that sooner or later, the novel's true protagonist will appear and the romance that gives rise to the book will begin. So staying on the sidelines seems like the most sensible decision. The problem is that Mal has never been one to respect other people's plans. It all starts the night a friend tricks her into attending an awkward blind date. When she tries to discreetly escape the situation, a complete stranger barges into the table calling her 'Pajarito' and starts telling completely made-up anecdotes about a supposed childhood friendship. The stranger turns out to be Mal Ericson. And, for some reason, he seems to have a great time dragging her into his chaos. She only wanted to survive an awkward date. Now she has to survive the most unpredictable man in the entire band. And that, she soon discovers, is considerably harder.
